Kings Set to Open Training Camp

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings will open their 2009 NHL Training Camp on Sunday, September 13, at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo, the club announced Thursday.

All on-ice practices are open to the fans and the media, and 61 players are scheduled to participate in this year’s Training Camp. The players will be divided into three teams at the start of Camp with the first on-ice practice set to begin at 8:30 a.m.

Media availability throughout training camp with players and Kings Head Coach Terry Murray is detailed below.

The Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo is located at 555 North Nash Street. Practices will be held on both the NHL and Olympic rinks.

In addition, the Kings will hold their annual rookie camp/tournament at the Toyota Sports Center beginning September 6 with all on-ice practice sessions open to the public and free of charge. Kings Rookie Camp will conclude with two rookie games against Phoenix at Toyota Sports Center. The first game is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, at 6 p.m. The second game is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, at 2 p.m.

Tickets for both games go on sale TODAY, Thursday, at 2 p.m. and can only be purchased at Tickets cost $10 each (proceeds go to the Kings Care Foundation) and are limited to 500 for each game. Vision will be streaming the game on Thursday at 2 p.m. live. Mike Kalinowski will call the action and be joined in the booth during the game by the following Kings hockey operations executives – Michael Futa, Nelson Emerson, Brent McEwen, Kim Dillabaugh, Mark Yannetti and Mike O’Connell.
