KINGS RELIEVE MURRAY AND VAN BOXMEER OF COACHING DUTIES

by Staff Writer / Los Angeles Kings
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have relieved Head Coach Andy Murray and Assistant Coach John Van Boxmeer of their coaching duties, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced Tuesday evening.

The Kings will hold a press conference on Wednesday to introduce new Interim Head Coach John Torchetti. The press conference is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (PT).

"The Kings would like to thank Andy Murray for his loyalty and dedication to our franchise over the last seven years," said Taylor. "A decision of this magnitude is never easy and cannot be taken lightly. Ultimately, I have not been happy with the direction our hockey team has been going, and without making a change now, I didn't see that direction changing. We wish Andy and John Van Boxmeer the best of luck going forward."
