Kings Recall Michael Mersch From Ontario (AHL)

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Michael Mersch from the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

The 23-year-old Mersch (born Oct. 2, 1992) is a 6-2, 218-pound native of Park Ridge, Ill. who appeared in 15 games this earlier this season with the Kings, recording three points (1-2=3) and a plus-1 rating. He recorded his first career NHL goal/point Dec. 29 at EDM. This is his third recall of the season.

Mersch appeared in 34 games with Ontario, where he has registered 28 points (19-9=28), a plus-6 rating and 22 penalty minutes. At the time of his recall, Mersch’s 19 goals lead the Reign and rank tied for 10th in the AHL.

The Kings conclude their season-long seven-game road trip tonight against the Nashville Predators beginning at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports West and KABC Radio 790.
