LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Linden Vey from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
This is Vey’s fifth re-call of the season. The 22-year-old rookie appeared in 18 regular season games for the Kings this season (his first in the NHL), recording five points (all assists) and zero penalty minutes.
The 6-0, 189-pound native of Wakaw, Saskatchewan has played in 43 games for the Monarchs this season, recording 48 points (14-34=48), 20 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating. His 48 points and 34 assists rank second on the club.
Vey was selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Game One of the First Round series between the Kings and Sharks gets underway Thursday from the SAP Center at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast locally on FOX Sports West and KEIB AM 1150 The Patriot.
