-- The Opening Night festivities at STAPLES Center begin tomorrow as Kings players arrive to the arena. Players will walk the “purple carpet” and greet fans between 4 – 5 p.m. at the SW VIP Entrance as they enter STAPLES Center.
-- Opening Night Fanfest takes place from 5 – 7:30 p.m. in the front plaza area at STAPLES Center. Member of the Kings alumni association and members of the Kings Ice Crew will be featured at the Fanfest as will music and a beer garden. The San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino Chuck Wagon will be at the Fanfest with giveaways and the US Army will have interactive elements on hand as well.
-- The Kings will hit the ice for pre-game warm-ups at 7 p.m. and fans are also encouraged to enter STAPLES Center early and take their seats by 7:20 p.m. for the beginning of the Opening Night show.
-- As part of tomorrow night’s player introductions, the Kings’ new custom laser light experience will debut.

-- The Kings-Thrashers game will also mark the first regular season contest to be played under STAPLES Center’s new Live 4HD Scoreboard system by Panasonic.

-- The pre-game Fanfest in the front plaza area will also take place on Friday prior to that night’s Kings-Vancouver Canucks game which begins at 7:30 p.m. (and features a free Kings Magnet Schedule presented by Automobile Club of Southern California to all fans in attendance). Friday night will also feature a special Oktoberfest – including the Bud Light Beer Garden and food -- in the LA Live Plaza pre-game from 5 – 7:30 p.m.

The Kings (1-1-0) are scheduled to practice this week as follows at the Toyota Sports Center: Today (12:30 p.m.); Tuesday (10 a.m. game day skate); Wednesday (11:30 a.m.); Thursday (10 a.m.); and Friday (10 a.m. game day skate). All practice times are subject to change.

The Kings-Thrashers game will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 AM and along the Kings Radio Network as will the Kings-Canucks game on Friday. The Kings conclude the three-game homestand on Wednesday, October 20, against Carolina at 7:30 p.m.
