LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have officially qualified for the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Kings earned their third consecutive postseason berth tonight after the Dallas Stars did not earn a victory in their recently-completed game in Nashville.
The schedule for the first round of the playoffs for the Kings – currently first in the Pacific Division Record with a 40-27-13 record and 93 points – is scheduled to be announced by the National Hockey League on Sunday. The Kings will announce their broadcast schedules once they are finalized.
As of now, the Kings will clinch at least the seventh seed in the Western Conference with a win in regulation or overtime tonight versus San Jose.
The Kings expect to distribute an electronic version and a printed version of their 2012 Postseason Media Guide beginning Monday, April 9. The Kings communications department will also be distributing their General Media Playoff Information procedural guidelines in the coming days.
