The Los Angeles Kings have loaned left wingers Noah Clarke and Ryan Flinn to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Clarke, 26, appeared in six preseason games with the Kings. The 5-9, 193-pound native of La Verne, California, recorded four points (1-3=4) and six penalty minutes in the six games. Clarke, who was selected by the Kings in the ninth-round (250th overall) in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, has one assist in two career NHL regular season games (both with the Kings). He is the first native of California to play for the Kings.
Flinn, 25, appeared in five preseason games with the Kings. The 6-5, 248-pound native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, collected 24 penalty minutes in the five contests. Flinn, signed by the Kings as a free agent on January 9, 2002, has one goal and 79 penalty minutes in 29 career NHL regular season games, all with the Kings.
The Kings departed today for Dallas to open the 2005-06 regular season versus the Pacific Division-rival Stars on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. (PT). The game will be broadcast on FSN West, KKGO 1260 AM and along the Kings Radio Network.
The Kings kick off their home schedule the following night, Thursday, at STAPLES Center versus the Phoenix Coyotes. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with that contest broadcast on FSN West, Radio Disney 1110 and along the Kings Radio Network.
