Fans of the LA Kings Official Facebook Page had the opportunity to create their own stylized version of a Kings jersey. The call was for the most creative submissions, including the the worst, best or most off-the-wall designs, all made using the Sporting Store's online jersey creator
. Over three days there were many great submissions, but here at LAKings.com we had to cut the list down to our favorite six. The software does not allow for masterpieces, so allowing for that we have selected one winner and five runners-up. You can see a gallery of all the entries here.
The winner, because we appreciate the real Kings jersey to which he was paying homage
, is this creative sweater designed by Michael Berkowitz. For his winning entry, Michael Berkowitz will receive a signed player card.
There were many good entries, but the other five that stuck out were the following, based on different qualities.
- David Leos also designed his jersey with a more realistic concept, using the Kings new third jersey logo, but incorporating purple into his color scheme.
- Kevin Escribano was inspired by fighting promotor Don King on his off-the-wall design which changed not only the Kings logo, but the colors.
- Rick Benavides also changed the logo and color scheme, using chess pieces to signify Kings in this inspired creation.
- Monica Braceros used one of the old Kings logos on her throwback design, with wavy stripes and patterned collar reminiscent of an old Phoenix Coyotes jersey.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this contest, hopefully you all had fun creating your favorite (or least favorite) Kings jerseys. Become a fan of the Official LA Kings Facebook page here and join other Kings fans in contests such as this!
