LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Richard Petiot to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced.

Petiot, 23, has zero points and two penalty minutes in two games with the Kings this season. The 6-3, 200-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, made his Kings/NHL debut versus Tampa Bay on January 17. Selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (116th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Petiot has 13 points (4-9=13) and 52 penalty minutes in 60 games with the Monarchs this season, and he leads the team with a plus-14 rating.
