LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Richard Petiot to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Petiot, 23, was recalled by the Kings from Manchester yesterday and did not appear in last night's Kings-Boston game, a 6-0 Los Angeles victory. With Manchester this season, Petiot has eight points (3-5=8), 26 penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating in 30 games. The 6-3, 200-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (116th overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He has been recalled by the Kings on multiple occasions this season and has not appeared in a regular season game.
