LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned forward Linden Vey to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
The 22-year-old rookie appeared in 18 regular season games for the Kings this season (his first in the NHL), recording five points (all assists) and zero penalty minutes.
The 6-0, 189-pound native of Wakaw, Saskatchewan played in 43 regular season games for the Monarchs this season, recording 48 points (14-34=48), 20 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating. His 48 points and 34 assists ranked second on the club.
Vey was selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Game Three of the First Round series between the Kings and Sharks is set for tomorrow at STAPLES Center, with game-time at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast locally on Prime Ticket and KEIB AM 1150 The Patriot.
