LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings today released their regular season radio broadcast schedule on the club’s Los Angeles-based radio flagship station KTLK AM 1150 (a Clear Channel Communications property) for the upcoming 2007-08 season, it was announced by Kings Vice President, Communications and Broadcasting Michael Altieri. Among the highlights of the schedule include the Kings-Ducks regular season opener from the new O2 Arena in London, England on Saturday, September 29 at 8:30 a.m. (PT). Game time is 9 a.m. (PT).
KTLK AM 1150 will carry 2007-08 Kings pre-season, regular season and post-season games, including both of the Kings games in London to open the season. The second Kings-Ducks game in London will take place on Sunday, September 30 at 9 a.m. (PT), with the radio broadcast on KTLK AM 1150 scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m.
Kings radio play-by-play announcer Nick Nickson is entering his 27th season with the organization and his 18th consecutive season as the radio “Voice of the Kings.” He again teams with radio commentator and former Kings forward Daryl Evans, who is set for his ninth season as Nickson’s partner on KTLK AM 1150, and along the Kings Radio Network.
Evans and Nickson begin each broadcast with a 30-minute pre-game show. In addition, on KTLK AM 1150 they will continue their co-hosting roles on the popular “Kings Talk.” Heard after every home game as well as all road games in Anaheim, “Kings Talk” allows hockey fans an opportunity to call Evans and Nickson with their questions and comments and have them answered on the air.
The Kings radio broadcast schedule will begin with the first pre-season game on Thursday, September 13 at Anaheim at 6:30 p.m. The Kings pre-season game on September 19 at Denver will be delayed on KTLK AM 1150 until 7 p.m. (pre-game start).
