LOS ANGELES –
The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Jake Muzzin
to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Muzzin, 21, has played in eight Kings games this season, his first in the NHL. He has one point (an assist) and zero penalty minutes. He’s currently tied for eighth among NHL rookies (second among rookie defensemen) with 17 hits. The 6-3, 213-pound native of Woodstock, Ontario was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on Jan. 4, 2010.
The Kings (8-3-0), most points in the NHL, continue their five-game homestand tomorrow (Thursday) against the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network. The homestand will also feature the Nashville Predators on Saturday (7 p.m. start), Dallas Stars on Thursday, Nov. 11 (7:30 p.m. start) and New York Islanders on Saturday, Nov. 13 (7:30 p.m. start)
