The LA Kings will be hosting their annual Toy Drive and Holiday Ornament Initiative during the month of December at STAPLES Center. Both the Toy Drive and Holiday Ornament Initiative will kick-off tonight when the Kings host the Florida Panthers at 7:30 p.m. (FS West, KTLK AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network).
Hockey fans are encouraged to bring donated toys with them to tonight’s game as well as to Kings games at STAPLES Center on December 3 (Montreal; 12:30 p.m.), December 8 (Minnesota; 7:30 p.m.) and December 10 (Dallas; 7:30 p.m.). The toys will then be collected and distributed to several area organizations during the holiday season, including: CHLA, Salvation Army, Child Abuse Prevention Center, After School All-Stars, Padres Contra El Cancer, P.F. Bresee Foundation, the LAFD Spark For Love Toy Drive, Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Violence Intervention Program. Also, every fan who donates a toy during the drive will be entered into a raffle to win a prize from the Kings Care Foundation.
Also starting tonight, the Kings Care Foundation will begin selling a limited number of 2011 holiday ornaments. The ornaments will be sold at the Kings Care Booth located outside of section 102 in the main concourse. Player autographed ornaments will be sold for $25 each and unsigned ornaments will be sold for $10 each.

The Holiday Ornament Initiative will conclude on December 22 when the Kings host Anaheim (7 p.m.) with any leftovers and blank ornaments available for purchase during that game. All proceeds from the Holiday Ornament Initiative will benefit the Kings Care Foundation.
Also on December 22, there will be a team signed set of ornaments for sale at the Kings Care Booth as part of a Silent Auction, and now through December 13, an additional team signed set will be available online at auction.nhl.com. Bidding starts at $200.
