LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have activated defenseman Mike Weaver from the injured reserve list, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

Weaver, 27, has missed the last six games due to a hip flexor injury that he suffered during the Kings-Phoenix Coyotes game on December 29. He was placed on the injured reserve list on January 5 (retroactive to December 30).

In 31 games with the Kings this season, his first with the club, the 5-9, 182-pound native of Bramalea, Ontario, has five points (all assists) and eight penalty minutes. In 88 career NHL regular season games with the Kings and Atlanta Thrashers, Weaver has 11 points (all assists) and 38 penalty minutes.

The Kings (28-16-2, 58 points) conclude their stretch of four consecutive games away from STAPLES Center tonight at Buffalo at 4:30 p.m. (PT) at HSBC Arena, with Weaver expected to play. The contest will air on FSN West, ESPN Radio 710-KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.
