LOS ANGELES –
The Los Angeles Kings have activated forward Brad Richardson
from the injured list and have assigned forward John Zeiler to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Richardson, 25, suffered an upper-body injury on December 9 at STAPLES Center during the Kings’ victory against Calgary. In 26 games this season he has seven points (1-6=7) and 12 penalty minutes. He was placed on the injured reserve list on December 13 (retroactive to December 10) and has missed the Kings’ last four games.
Zeiler, 28, played in four games with the Kings this season. He has also played in 22 games with the Monarchs this season, recording five points (all assists) and 46 penalty minutes.
In addition, Hockey Canada today announced that forward Brayden Schenn, 19, will serve as an alternate captain with Canada’s National Junior Team this year at the World Junior Championships. Schenn played in eight games with the Kings this season before the club assigned him to the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League on December 3.
The Kings continue their five-game road trip tonight in Chicago at 4 p.m. (PT) on FS West, KTLK 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network. The Kings conclude the trip at Colorado on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. (PT) on PRIME Ticket.
