LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have activated defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk from the injured reserve list and assigned him to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Bodnarchuk was injured during training camp.
The 26-year-old Bodnarchuk (born on July 11, 1988) is a 5-10, 194-pound native of Drumheller, Alberta, who has appeared in five career NHL regular season games – all with the Boston Bruins in 2009-10 – totaling zero points and two penalty minutes. Bodnarchuk signed with the Kings as a free agent on July 6, 2012 and he has appeared in 142 regular season games (13-39=52; 166 PIM) with the Monarchs over the past two seasons. He led the AHL in plus/minus with a plus-43 last season. The Bruins originally selected Bodnarchuk in the fifth-round (128th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.
