LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Kings have acquired a seventh round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for goaltender Jason LaBarbera, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced Tuesday.

"Jason has been a great teammate throughout his time in Los Angeles and he is a very good person," Assistant General Manager Ron Hextall said. "We decided to go in a different direction and we wish him the best going forward."
The Kings now have 14 total selections in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, including two second round selections and four selections in the first three rounds.
LaBarbera, 28, played in 19 games with the Kings this season, and had a record of 5-8-4, a goals-against-average of 2.83 and a save-percentage of .893. The 6-3, 225-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia, has played in 98 career regular season NHL games with the Kings and the New York Rangers, and has a record of 34-42-8 with four shutouts, a goals-against-average of 3.00 and a save-percentage of .901.
