LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings officially opened their 2005 NHL Training Camp with their first full on-ice session on Tuesday, September 13, at 9:30 a.m. at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. A total of 64 players are scheduled to attend this year's training camp and fans are welcome to attend all on-ice practices free of charge.
Recently acquired players Jeremy Roenick, Pavol Demitra, Craig Conroy, Valeri Bure and Mathieu Garon highlight the list of 64 players invited to Training Camp. Of the 64 players, seven are goalies, 21 are defensemen and there are 36 forwards. The Kings camp includes players born in 11 different countries: Canada (36), the United States (15), the Czech Rebublic (three), Russia (three), and one each from Japan, Serbia, Sweden, Kazakhstan, England, Slovenia and Finland. There are 13 non-roster invitees this year.
There will be three groups of players at the start of camp, with each group available to the media at the completion of their workout session. Each day consists of on-ice workouts and off-ice sessions.
