Quick’s week was stellar; in three starts, the Kings’ netminder posted a 3-0-0 mark with a 1.32 GAA and a .953 SV%, including a 32-save shutout performance against the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday night where he set a new NHL record for most career shutouts (41) by an American-born goaltender.
On Thursday, Quick helped the Kings to a 4-3 OT win over the New York Rangers stopping 23 of 26 shots faced, and was near perfect yet again in the team’s 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins Saturday in which he made 27 saves.
Quick ranks second in the NHL with 37 wins in 58 appearances, which is just two shy of his career high of 39 set during the 2009-’10 campaign.
