In this segement of Inside the Play, Adrian Kempe and Jonny Brodzinski join Jim Fox to discuss Brodzinski's perfect pass that set up Kempe's breakaway goal.
"As soon as I crossed the blue line, I didn't even see Adrian, I just heard him," Brodzinski said.
On the other side of the ice was Kempe, who felt like he had Jonathan Toews beat. "I tried to put my wheels on and get some speed," Kempe said, which isn't normally an issue for him.
"I got the pass like literally perfect in front of me so I could just skate right into it and then I had some time and space to make a move on the goalie as well."
He moved in on the net at speed and tried to go top shelf. The Blackhawks' goalie Corey Crawford was "playing pretty low, so top of the net's going to be open."
