Dustin Brown scored the overtime winner on a stretch pass from Dustin Brown as the LA Kings beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 on December 31.
Brown and Muzzin join broadcaster Jim Fox to break down what went right for the Kings to score the game-winning goal.
Overtime always provides opportunities for quick zone entries, but this particular change was one for the books.
"You take a little bit more risk, because you're trying to catch guys," Brown said. "That's all 3-on-3 is. You get one chance one way, then it's another chance the other way."
Muzzin knew he had to capitalize on the shift change, since practically shot the stretch pass to Brown. "The window was closing quickly," Muzzin said.
And he delivered... with a "fire" pass, as Fox puts it.

Jeff Carter had given Brown a heads up that the other team was changing, which is what spurred him to skate the route he did.
"I saw a lot of blocker side and decided to shoot pretty early," Brown said. "I probably would shoot that nine times out of ten."
