In this installment of Inside the Play, Matt Roy sits down with Jim Fox to discuss his ever-evolving game.

"I'm a defensive-minded player," Roy said. "I try to have clean breakouts, make a good first pass out of our zone to the wingers... and I try to play physical when I can."

Roy is a steady and reliable defenseman who has a league-best +17 dating back to February 12.

"I think there's an element of consistency there," Roy said. "I take pride in that... I think that it makes it easier for everyone on the ice if they know what I'm going to do."

Just 95 games into his NHL career, the defensive-minded defenseman has played all 70 games this season and recorded 18 points (4-14=18).
