How-to-Watch-Iafallo-Buffalo

Tonight, the LA Kings face the Buffalo Sabres - a team with an 0-3-2 record after notching their tenth consecutive win on November 27.
The Sabres are currently third in the Atlantic Division with 38 points and a 17-9-4 record. Led by Jeff Skinner, Jack Eichel and the Rasmuses, Dahlin and Ristolainen, the Sabres represent a much tougher challenge than they have in previous seasons.
There are plenty of compelling story lines heading into tonight's game that Kings fans won't want to miss. Fortunately, you won't have to!

Bucking The Trends
The Kings head into Buffalo looking to avenge a 5-1 loss to the Sabres on October 20. Skinner scored a hat trick and Linus Ulmark stopped 19 of 20 shots as the Sabres recorded their first win at STAPLES Center since October 23, 2003.
The last time the two teams met in Buffalo was February 17, 2018. Michael Amadio and Anze Kopitar both scored two goals and Jonathan Quick made 33 saves as the Kings defeated the Sabres in Buffalo for the first time since February 21, 2003.

If the Kings can win tonight, it will be their first consecutive wins in Buffalo since March 15, 1993 and February 9, 1992. Since then, the Sabres are 14-2-1 against the Kings at home, outscoring them 69-29.
Go See Cal
The Sabres selected Cal Petersen 129th overall in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play three seasons at Notre Dame, where in his junior season, he was made team captain and named to the Hockey East First Team All-Stars.

Cal-Petersen-How-to-Watch

Petersen may have been drafted by the Sabres, but he signed a two-year entry-level deal with the Kings.

He spent the 2017-18 season with the Ontario Reign in the AHL, earning the respect and praise of head coach Mike Stothers.

In Petersen's NHL debut, he only alllowed one goal in 35 minutes of relief against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Then, his first career start and win came three nights later as Petersen held the Blackhawks to a single goal through regulation and overtime before stopping Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane in a shootout.

In nine NHL games, Petersen has a 4-4 record with a .929 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.41. Tonight's game will be his first against the team that drafted him, but based on his performance this season, it definitely won't be the last.
Iafallo You Home
Eden, NY is a small farm town just south of Buffalo. Boasting a population of fewer than 10,000, it's known for its fertile soil and annual Corn Festival. It's also home to the burgeoning Iafallo hockey dynasty.

Iafallo is in his second season with the Kings and has spent most of his 106 games playing on the top line with Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown. Julianna Iafallo is a rookie with the Buffalo Beauts of the NWHL and helped lead them to a win over the Connecticut Whale on Saturday night at HarborCenter, across the street from KeyBank Arena in Buffalo.

The last time Iafallo and the Kings played in Buffalo, the Iafallo Fan Club was well represented and it appears it will be tonight as well.

Iafallo earned his spot on the top line with tenacious forechecking, on ice vision and up-tempo play. His relentless energy routinely turns dump ins into turnovers and broken plays into goals. With a crowd of supporters and his infectious personality, the potential for consecutive wins in Buffalo isn't a fantasy for the traveling Kings.
