When the Kings host the Carolina Hurricanes Friday night at STAPLES Center, the organization will be honoring Hockey Fights Cancer
, and initiative founded by the NHL in 1998 to raise money and awareness for the league’s most important fight.
The Kings will be part of a group of four clubs recognizing the charitable foundation on Friday night, along with the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and New York Islanders.

For the organization, Friday night presents a major opportunity to make a positive impact on the cause, and our biggest support link is always our dedicated fans. There will be plenty of opportunities during Friday’s game to take action and play a role in the team efforts, many of which will be organized by the Kings Care Foundation.
The following will be available at the Kings Care Booth (just outside of Section 103):
- Commemorative eye lavender sets for a $5 donation
- Kings player autographed mystery lavender pucks for sale ($25/puck)
- Sharpies available to fill in your ‘Stand Up 2 Cancer’ placard (Each seat will have a card placed in it)
- #KingsFCancer jerseys exclusively produced and worn by Kings players during warm-ups for auction (Text KINGS to 52182 or visit lakings.com/auctions)
In addition, seven cancer related organizations - Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, Camp Ronal McDonald for Good Times, National Brain Tumor Society, Face Off with Cancer, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, ZEROCancer, Stand Up 2 Cancer, and Be The Match, will have booths set up in various spots along STAPLES Center’s main concourse.
The Team LA store, located outside of section 116 and near STAPLES Center’s VIP entrance, will have KingsFCancer merchandise for sale which you can also purchase online.

And, of course, tell us who you are fighting for! 'Stand Up 2 Cancer' placards will be placed on each seat in the arena prior to the game, you can fill out your placard at one of the various sharpie stations around the arena. During the last TV timeout in the second period, all fans in attendance will be participating in a 'Stand Up 2 Cancer' moment.
