“If you’re going to come at me, I’m coming back at you. If I don’t react, what message am I sending?”
During Saturday’s game against Edmonton – which was featured on CBC Sports’ ‘Hockey Night in Canada’, Kings’ forward Milan Lucic was spotlighted in a special segment on the network, providing an inside look at his years in Boston and his life off of the ice.
Lucic’s reputation, which has been as hard-nosed as it gets, is also delved into by those who have had to play against the highly emotional and ever-powerful forward.
“He’s one of those guys that you want to let sleep during a game, so to speak,” said Ottawa Senators defenseman Marc Methot. “And not wake him up.”
The summer of 2015 was a rather trying one for Lucic: he opens up about the death of his father, the birth of his second daughter, and the trade that sent him 3,000 miles across the country to play in a Kings uniform.
