After serving his two-game suspension for his boarding hit on the Detroit Red Wings' Darren Helm last Friday, Jordan Nolan didn't shy away in his return, landing a clean, shoulder-to-shoulder hit on the New York Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck in his first shift back.
"No Cookies For Lubo"
During the first shift of overtime during the Kings' matchup against the New York Islanders Thursday night, Jonathan Quick turned away a sure game-winning chance from former King Lubomir Visnovsky, sliding right-to-left to keep the Kings alive.
"It's Got Eyes"
After receiving a gorgeous pass from Mike Richards, Dustin Brown dialed in from atop the slot, and beat Dallas Stars' goaltender Kari Lehtonen for what would eventually be the game-winning goal in the Kings' 3-1 win Tuesday night. Brown's seeing-eye snap shot goal also came on his 30th birthday.
"Burning Down The House"
Late in the first period of the Kings 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks Saturday night, Anze Kopitar gave the Kings a 3-0 lead with arguably the prettiest goal we've seen so far this season. Kopitar's goal, a beautiful shot taken in stride, beat Vancouver's Ryan Miller to the only spot available in the top left corner.
On Tuesday night in Dallas, Trevor Lewis got the Kings rolling with a shorthanded goal early in the second period. Lewis' goal, an absolute thing of beauty, woke up the Kings' offense and drove them to a 3-1 win, their first road win of the season.
And of course, for honorable mention...
"How's It Goin'?"
After getting called for a roughing infraction against Dustin Brown early in the Kings' game Tuesday night in Dallas, the Stars' Antoine Roussel wasn't particularly pleased. At least, that's what it looks like.
