Los Angeles – Coverage of the 2006-07 Los Angeles Kings on FSN WEST features locally-produced, team-focused original programming to complement a 68-game telecast schedule. For the 39 home and 29 away Kings games on FSN WEST, Bob Miller, the "Voice of the Kings", provides play-by-play alongside former King and color commentator Jim Fox. Ten game telecasts in the 68 events covered on FSN WEST are available in high definition (HD).
Before the puck drops on the 2006-07 season, FSN WEST provides Kings fans with an insider's look at the team. The Kings Season Preview on FSN WEST explores the recent additions to the club and spends time with new and returning players. Hosted by FSN WEST reporter Patrick O'Neal and game analyst Fox, the half-hour Kings 2006-07 Season Preview on FSN WEST airs October 1 at 10 PM.
"Kings Live" provides Kings fans with unmatched access to the hockey club and makes each FSN WEST game telecast into a complete viewing event. Originating live from STAPLES Center and on the road, "Kings Live" airs 30-minutes prior to most home contests and continues for full post-game coverage immediately following both home and away games on FSN WEST. Led by O'Neal, the 2006 Los Angeles Area Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Sports Reporting, "Kings Live" is a seamless extension of the game, delivering the stories of the game as told by the playmakers themselves. "Kings Live" makes its 2006-07 debut at 10 PM on Saturday, October 7, with complete coverage of the Kings-St. Louis season home opener.
Over four hours of original Kings programming on FSN WEST October 7 conclude with an introduction to Marc Crawford. After seven years as head coach for the Vancouver Canucks, Crawford - considered one of the elite coaches in the NHL - was named head coach for the Kings in May 2006. Each 30-minute presentation of "In My Own Words" strips down the documentary format to just three elements for a sports personality – with his or her own face, voice and story – to present Southern California fans with an intimate profile of some of the sports world's most compelling figures. "In My Own Words: Marc Crawford" premieres on FSN WEST on October 7 at 10:30 PM.
