LOS ANGELES – The joint “Freeway Face-off” promotion between the Kings, the Anaheim Ducks and broadcast partner Fox Sports WEST and PRIME TICKET will be decided tomorrow, Wednesday, in the final contest between the two National Hockey League clubs at Honda Center (game time is 7:05 p.m.). The sixth and final meeting between the two teams will determine the season series winner, and a $50,000 donation will be made by the losing team to the winning team’s charity of choice after tomorrow’s contest, which can be seen on Fox Sports WEST.

In five games versus the Ducks this season, the Kings have posted a 2-2-1 record (five points). Kings highlights from the 2008-09 season series include a 6-3 win on October 14 at STAPLES Center as six different Kings tallied goals. Jarret Stoll and Tom Preissing paced the Kings with a goal and an assist each, and Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown each recorded two assists. On Janaury 8, before a sold-out crowd at STAPLES Center, the Kings won 4-3. Goalie Jonathan Quick earned the win and offensively Kopitar, Brown and Alexander Frolov recorded one goal and one assist apiece.

The Kings can claim the “Freeway Face-off” title with a regulation win tomorrow night. A Ducks win of any kind (regulation, overtime or shootout) will give the season series and “Freeway Face-off” title to Anaheim. An overtime or shootout victory by the Kings will leave the season series tied, with the winner of the “Freeway Faceoff” then determined by which team has the better final regular season record.

In conjunction with broadcast partner Fox Sports WEST and PRIME TICKET, the “Freeway Face-off” launched during the 2007-08 season, highlighting the now 16-year rivalry between the two clubs. The winner of each season series receives a $50,000 donation to their team foundation (Kings Care Foundation or Anaheim Ducks Foundation) from the other club. The Ducks won the inaugural “Freeway Face-off” by earning 12 standings points last year (6-2-0) to the Kings’ six.
