Accustomed to “giving an assist,” Los Angeles Kings hockey players Davis Drewiske
and Scott Parse
will be helping The Salvation Army raise much-needed funds through its iconic Red Kettles this year, when they volunteer as Bell Ringers at the Del Amo Fashion Center’s Macy’s in Torrance, Calif. this Wednesday, Dec 2, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Drewiske and Parse join a long list of Los Angeles notables who have given their time and talent to help The Salvation Army help others. With the troubled economy driving an unprecedented need for social services, the “assists” these two Los Angeles Kings players are providing are coming at just the right time.
Macy’s at the Del Amo Fashion Center is located at:
21760 Hawthorne Blvd.,
Torrance, Calif. 90503
Drewsike and Parse will be located at the first Macy's Building in front of the Men's Fragrance Counter facing Hawthorne Blvd.
The Red Kettles in Southern California are expected to bring in more than $2 million this holiday season, with the help of volunteers like Drewiske and Parse, as well technological advances. This year, more than 40 Red Kettle sites – including the Del Amo Fashion Center’s Macy’s – are accepting major debit and credit cards via card reading devices as a convenience for donors who would like to give, but do not carry cash.
The public is encouraged to attend this free event.
