Drew Doughty

The NHLPA Player Poll results are back for the 2019-20 edition! This year, 588 players from each of the 31 NHL clubs were polled anonymously on 20 hockey-related questions.
And to no surprise, Drew Doughty's name was mentioned several times. The veteran defenseman is widely known around the league for his sense of humor and impressive play as a key part of the LA Kings blue line.

Doughty was voted as one of the league's Best Defenseman, joining the likes ofVictor Hedman, John Carlson, Roman Josi and Brent Burns.
Known for his sense of humor both on and off the ice, Doughty was also named the second
Funniest Player in the league, trailing only to Keith Yandle.
There seems to be a similarity between the winners for the game's Best and Worst Trash Talkers. For the second year in a row, Brad Marchand won the best and worst award. Doughty came in second place for both categories with 13% voting him the best, and 6.85% voting him the worst. I guess it all depends on what you consider offensive?

As with past years' results, it's no surprise that Wayne Gretzky's name is mentioned as one of the most legendary players of all time. He still owns almost virtually every NHL scoring record, so 31% of players voted him as the person they'd most likely pay to see. Notable mentions were former players Bobby Orr and Mario Lemieux, plus current superstar Connor McDavid.
Things took a surprising turn as the Best Bromance category was crowned. Dynamic duos made the list, like Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, Joe Thornton and Brent Burns, David Perron and Ryan O'Reilly, Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin.
The players clearly had a sense of humor when filling out the last pairing: Doughty and Matthew Tkachuk. You know what they say... keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

Finally, Bailey got a nod on the list for the Best Mascot award. New to the game, havoc-wreaker Gritty won the award by a large 69%. He was followed by Gnash, Howler, Bailey and Youppi, who all had around two percent of the votes.
