DOUGHTY VS. FROLOV IN FINAL

One King will return home from Switzerland with a Gold Medal from the 2009 World Championships.

Alexander Frolov and Dustin Brown each tallied goals but Frolov and Russia prevailed over the United Stats on Friday, 3-2, advancing Russia to the Gold-Medal Game and sending Team USA to the Bronze-Medal Game on Sunday.

Their opponents were determined in the second game of the day, as Drew Doughty and Canada defeated Sweden, 2-1, setting up a duel between Frolov and Doughty as Team Canada and Russia match up in the Gold Medal game. | Preview | Break down

Russia and Canada played for the Gold in 2008.

Team USA will face Sweden for the Bronze.

Brown led USA with 3-5=7, Peter Harrold went scoreless in three games and Jack Johnson tallied 4-2=6 for the Americans.

Michal Handzus was the sixth member of the Kings organization participating in the World Championships, finishing 10th with Team Slovakia. Handzus finished with four assists in six games and a plus-two rating.
