LOS ANGELES –
The Los Angeles Kings have recalled defenseman Slava Voynov
from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League and have placed defenseman Drew Doughty
on the injured reserve list (upper body injury), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Voynov, 21, has not played in the NHL. The native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, has played in two games this season with the Monarchs, recording two points (1-1=2), two penalty minutes and a plus-five rating. Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (32nd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the 5-11, 199-pounder wears No. 26 with the Kings.
Doughty, 21, suffered an injury during the first period of last night’s Kings-Flyers game in Philadelphia, a 3-2 overtime win by the Kings. In four games this season he has one point (an assist) and two penalty minutes.
The Kings (2-1-1) are scheduled to practice tomorrow, Monday, at the Toyota Sports Center at 11 a.m. (changed from 10:30 a.m.). The Kings then will hold their pre-game skate in El Segundo on Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The Kings-Blues game will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 AM and along the Kings Radio Network. Prior to the game FS West will debut a special 30-minute program entitled MAKING OF THE L.A. KINGS ICE CREW CALENDAR (7 p.m. start).
