Doughty Leaves with Upper-Body Injury

by Rich Hammond / Los Angeles Kings

Kings defenseman Drew Doughty left Saturday's game early in the first period with an undisclosed upper-body injury and is expected to miss 7 to 10 days, general manager Dean Lombardi said.

Doughty took a big open-ice hit from Philadelphia's Zic Rinaldo in the first minute and, according to the official stat sheet, returned for one shift but then was not on the ice or bench after that. Lombardi said the injury was not to Doughty's head.

Doughty had one assist in his first three games this season after he signed an eight-year, $56-million contract in late September.
