DEAN LOMBARDI TO TWITTER FROM THE DRAFT

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings and the club’s official website, LAKings.com, will start pre-draft coverage of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft tomorrow, Friday, the team announced today.  The Kings currently hold the fifth overall selection and 13 total selections over seven rounds (the Draft takes place June 26-27 in Montreal).

Beginning June 19, LAKings.com will feature daily content (see schedule below) through the beginning of the Draft.  Beginning on Thursday, June 25, LAKings.com will begin four-days of coverage from the host city. 

In addition, the Kings for the first time will be twittering directly from the Draft.  Check out special “tweets” from Montreal as the club holds pre-draft scouting meetings and also follow Kings tweets directly from the Draft floor in Montreal.  Twitter updates from the Draft will be offered by the following Kings personnel: President/General Manager Dean Lombardi; Vice President/Assistant General Manager Ron Hextall; Co-Director of Amateur Scouting Mark Yannetti; and Co-Director of Amateur Scouting Michael Futa.

Kings President, Business Operations Luc Robitaille will be in Montreal for the Draft and will be twittering, and Kings radio color commentator/former Kings forward Daryl Evans will also be in Montreal filing reports and interviews for Kings Vision at LAKings.com, and he will be twittering.

In addition, on June 26, the first day of the Draft, the ESPN Zone at L.A. Live will host an NHL Draft Watch Party.   The event will take place from 4-7 p.m. and seating is limited.  For more information, call 1-888-KINGS-LA.

Kings Vision host Heidi Androl will be twittering from the Draft Watch Party, and the Kings will be hosting their first-ever Tweet-Up Party during the event.  For more information on the “Tweet-Up Party,” click here.  You must have a Twitter account to RSVP.

LAKings.com will also be launching their first message boards on Monday, June 20, with a chat forum focused on the NHL Draft.  “The Kingdom” will allow fans to talk Kings hockey and it will be the first spot to connect with other Kings fans throughout the off-season and beyond.
