This is going to be a short post.
Moments of truth come few and far between in careers and lives. That’s if you’re lucky enough to have them at all. For Kings fans that seems like every 20 years or so.
Usually such times sneak up on you and suddenly actions and decisions define a lifetime of work. Childhood dreams can be realized and history can be forever changed.
One can never predict how people perform in such spotlights. Hopefully the thousands of hours put in, a calm head, a strong heart and fate see you through.
Whether you’re an eight seed or a one seed, it is a long, hard slog to the Stanley Cup Final. Enjoy the 12-2 postseason record to date. But remember the 1,500 games in between.
Yes, in the big scheme of things this is just sports. These are just hockey games. There are much larger issues in the world and at home. That said, watching the Kings win a Stanley Cup would allow me to burn my bucket list.
What a great run we’ve had.
Like the rest of you, I’ll be holding my breath, cursing the refs and saying my prayers.
I’ve been promised all sticks have been measured and we are good to go.
Let’s do it!
Let’s win the Stanley Cup.
