LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Kings right wing Valeri Bure underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a defect in his right hip, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced.
Bure, 31, is scheduled to begin his rehabilitation immediately. His rehabilitation is expected to last 3-4 months. Hip surgeon Marc Philippon performed the surgical procedure in Vail, Colorado.
Bure has not played a regular season game with the Kings this season after signing with the club as a free agent on August 12. In 621 career NHL regular season games with Dallas, Florida, St. Louis, Calgary and Montreal, the 5-11, 180-pound native of Moscow, Russia, has 400 points (174-226=400) and 221 penalty minutes.
