|Ace Bailey and Mark Bavis will be honored at Hockey Fest '10.
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings and the Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighters Fund will work together at LA Kings Hockey Fest ’10 which takes place on Saturday, September 11, at the Toyota Sports Center.
Six Los Angeles-area fire stations will be preparing and selling food to benefit the Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighters Fund. They will be set up in the outside festival-area portion of the Toyota Sports Center and all proceeds from their sales will benefit their organization.
Farmer John will be donating their product for the firefighters to cook and, additionally, California Pizza Kitchen will have their popular pizza truck at the festival and they will donate a portion of their pizza sales to the Fund as well.
“We feel and proud and fortunate to have local firefighters participating and raising money and awareness for such an important cause,” said Kings President Business, Operations Luc Robitaille. “We are excited for them to provide our fans with great food for a great event, and with this year’s Hockey Fest falling on the anniversary of September 11, the Kings also feel that working with this important group helps to honor our scouts -- Ace Bailey and Mark Bavis -- and everyone who was lost on that tragic day.”
