While the LA Kings season may be over, Anze Kopitar's hockey season is not.
The Kings Captain is set to join the Slovenian national team for the 2019 IIHF Hockey World Championship in Kazakhstan.
Kopitar started representing his country in 2003 as a junior and then continued to do so through the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, four World Championships (2005, 2006, 2008, 2015), and one World Championship Division I event.

Just a kid that grew up in Hrušica, Slovenia, Kopitar has made the entire country extremely proud, as he is one of the most recognized Slovenian professional athletes.
"Being a kid from Slovenia, you always dream about playing in the NHL, and to actually get to a thousand games, it's pretty special," Kopitar said just before playing in his 1,000 NHL game.
