2016 NHL Draft Pick Jacob Moverare Signs 3-Year Contract

The LA Kings have signed recently drafted defenseman Jacob Moverare to a three-year entry-level contract, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. 

The 17-year-old Moverare (born Aug. 31, 1998) is a 6-2, 198-pound native Ostersund, Sweden who collected 21 points (5-16=21), a plus-3 rating and 22 penalty minutes in 41 regular-season games last season with HV71 J20 in the SuperElit league. He represented Sweden at the 2016 U18 World Junior Championships, tallying five points (1-4=5) in seven games en route to winning a silver medal.

A fourth-round (112th overall) selection of the Kings at the 2016 NHL Draft, Moverare has appeared in 83 regular-season games over two seasons at the SuperElit level with HV71 J20, posting 31 points (6-25=31), a plus-4 rating and 28 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in nine postseason games, where he tallied one point (0-1=1) and six penalty minutes.
