Every organization needs someone who can provide a spark, someone who can bring energy to fans and the team alike. When it comes to Kings games, it’s tough to top the presence of Bailey or STAPLES Center’s fantastic in-game entertainment setup, but there is someone who trumps it all.
Whether the Kings are in the midst of a win, or if they’re working their way back from a deficit, fans have grown accustomed to turning their attention to the jumbotron during the second TV timeout of every 3rd period.
That’s when the place goes nuts.
It’s Chris Sutter’s time.
The crowd’s reaction never wavers; the fanbase has made a genuine connection with Chris, who is now regularly counted upon to lift the spirits of everybody in attendance.
Chris, the son of Head Coach Darryl Sutter, has become a part of the Kings’ team just like any other player or staff member. He’s a staple in the locker room before and after games, checking in on the players, and providing a few words of encouragement if the mood is right.
Here's to hoping Chris, like his father, returns for the 2015-'16 season!
