The LA Kings got a hat trick from Anze Kopitar and four points from Drew Doughty as they kicked off the season in style, with a 6-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Kings used an aggressive, high-energy style of play to impress the crowd at STAPLES Center on Thursday, with their leaders both having huge nights. Forwards Dustin Brown and Phillip Danault also scored in the victory, the first for LA on Opening Night since the 2017-18 season.
