by Winnipeg Jets PR @WpgJetsPR / Press Release
WINNIPEG, Dec. 16, 2019 - One lucky rural community will play host to the Winnipeg Jets Town Takeover event on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.
True North Sports + Entertainment looks forward to celebrating the great game of hockey with a rural Manitoba community as part of the Jets Town Takeover initiative which makes Jets hockey and programming more accessible to a population outside of the Perimeter.
Fans can enter through video submission outlining why their town deserves to be chosen as a Jets Town Takeover finalist. The deadline for entries is Sunday, Jan. 5. Three videos will be selected for public vote in mid-January to determine the winning community.
Complete contest details and submission guidelines are available at WinnipegJets.com/JetsTownTakeover.
Included in the day's activities on March 24 will be Project 11 mental wellness programming for local students, including a pizza lunch, and Winnipeg Jets alumni on-ice participation with a local hockey team. A free all-ages social-style viewing party of the Winnipeg Jets at the Nashville Predators will culminate the celebration that evening, giving everyone in the community a chance to participate, complete with Mick E. Moose, fanfare and prizing.
