True North Sports & Entertainment Limited and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club are pleased to announce a new in-arena service that will accommodate deaf or hard of hearing hockey fans with closed-captioning of public address and promotional announcements at Winnipeg Jets games.
Deaf and hard of hearing patrons will be able to reserve and sign out tablets from the Winnipeg Jets’ guest services location on the main level MTS Centre concourse, which will display closed-captioning of all in-arena announcements and messaging. Two business days’ notice is required in order to arrange closed-captioning services, and requests may be made via the MTS Centre Web site, www.mtscentre.ca (please see the Fan Guide in the Guest Services section) or by calling the True North office at 204 987 7825. Patrons may also utilize the closed-captioning service through their own remote devices (smart phones or tablets) by obtaining web site information and password at guest services locations and with appropriate notice. This service will be available beginning with the Thursday November 20th game versus the Detroit Red Wings.
True North Sports & Entertainment has worked with the Manitoba Deaf Association in developing this new service and is very pleased to be able to provide it at this time.
