The Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup Tournament this past holiday season saw 102 teams playing 251 games over 10 hockey filled days. Young hockey players from four to 12 years old participated in the first Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup Tournament!

Also big winners were the host St. James-Assiniboia Minor Hockey Association and the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy as Event Coordinator, Judy Bamburak and Tournament Director, Tim Rafter presented cheques in the amount of $2000 to SJAMHA President Dwayne Schmidt and Program Coordinator, Winnipeg Jets Hockey Academy, Murray Cobb, for the True North Foundation.

“We are thankful for the support of the Winnipeg Jets Challenge Cup as their financial contribution helps us provide student athletes with the opportunity to play the great game of hockey," said Cobb. "As we all know hockey can be an expensive undertaking and we really appreciate when the community gets involved in helping us make the game more accessible to our student athletes.”
