by Staff Writer / Winnipeg Jets

True North Sports & Entertainment Limited is pleased to host the Winnipeg Jets Toy Drive at the Jets’ game on Dec. 5 versus the Washington Capitals. True North and the Winnipeg Jets encourage fans to bring an unwrapped gift or cash donation, which will be donated to the Christmas Cheer Board.

The Winnipeg Jets Toy Drive begins as MTS Centre doors open at 1:00 pm on Dec. 5 ahead of the 2:00 p.m. game. Unwrapped gifts and cash donations will be collected upon entry into MTS Centre. All gifts and proceeds will be given to the Christmas Cheer Board in time for the holiday season. The Christmas Cheer Board provides Christmas hampers and toys to families receiving Employment Income Assistance as well as many of the working poor. The Cheer Board has been in existence since 1919 and annually hands out approximately 19,000 hampers to those in need.

The Winnipeg Jets would like to remind fans there are tickets currently available to the fourth annual Winnipeg Jets Skills Competition on Dec. 3 at MTS Centre. The Skills Competition will see Winnipeg Jets players compete head-to-head in five skill events. The glass will once again be removed from the sides of the rink to give fans an up close look at their Winnipeg Jets. Ticket prices are $20.00, $15.00 and $10.00, service charges included. Tickets are available through www.winnipegjets.com. Proceeds from the Winnipeg Jets Skills Competition will benefit the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation and the NHLPA Goals and Dreams Fund.
