WINNIPEG – The Players Cup, one of PGA TOUR Canada’s premier events, has announced that the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation will be their primary charitable recipient for the next three years.
The Players Cup, following the long standing tradition of the PGA TOUR, has focused on charity as a pillar of the event and has donated $275,000 back to local charities to date. Ryan Hart, President of MF1 Marketing and Executive Director of The Players Cup, is confident this new partnership will only continue to increase the event’s impact on the community.
“As a stand alone entity, we only have so much reach,” said Hart, “aligning ourselves with a community ambassador of the calibre of the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation allows us to help a greater number of people in the community.”
The Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation, whose goal is to support registered charities who focus on enriching the lives of youth in Manitoba, are also excited to partner with a new sports property in Manitoba.
“It’s a great opportunity for our province to have another professional sports franchise with a charitable mandate,” said Dwayne Green, Executive Director of the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation. “We’re looking forward to working with The Players Cup in its inaugural season on PGA TOUR Canada.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to be aligned with the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation,” said Jeff Monday, President of PGA TOUR Canada. “We’re confident this alliance will achieve the goal of every PGA TOUR Canada event which is to enrich the local community in which we play.”
To kick off the partnership, The Players Cup and the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation have announced “The Players Cup Ultimate Sports Raffle” which offers a grand prize trip to the 2014 Masters. Other great prizes to be won include: a suite at a 2013-14 Winnipeg Jets game, a corporate membership for four at Pine Ridge Golf Club, season tickets for the 2013 Winnipeg Blue Bombers and season tickets for the 2014 Winnipeg Goldeyes.
Tickets can be ordered online via the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation website for $50 and include a weekly pass to The Players Cup.
The Players Cup will take place at Pine Ridge Golf Club July 15th through 21st. The event kicks off with The Players Cup Celebrity Pro-Am that will feature the likes of Zach Bogosian, Jonathan Toews, Shane Hnidy and other current and former NHL stars.
