WINNIPEG - The injury list grew one name longer, as Winnipeg Jets head coach Paul Maurice announced Brandon Tanev is week-to-week with a lower-body injury sustained in Friday night's win over the New York Islanders.
"We're going to be looking for him after that block of days we have in January," said Maurice. "It's inevitable. It happens to every team We've been pretty good at handling a couple of longer term ones… We've been pretty fortunate, so we won't complain."
With the 24-year-old forward on the sidelines, Marko Dano stepped on to the right wing with Matt Hendricks and Shawn Matthias at today's 45-minute practice.
Dano hasn't seen game action since Oct. 27 against Columbus, but looks forward to a potential return to the line-up on New Year's Eve against the Edmonton Oilers.
"It might take a little while to get back into a game routine or shape, but I'm going to go out there and enjoy every shift," said Dano. "I was still positive, and I was trying to improve in practice. Now I have a chance to go out there, have some fun, and do the best I can do."

Being out of the line-up hasn't been easy for Dano, but the 23-year-old says he and Shawn Matthias did everything they could to stay sharp.
Dano joked that he doesn't feel any extra pressure, even though Matthias - who made his return to the line-up for the first time since Dec. 3 - notched his first goal of the season on his first shift.
"He's going to be out there with me, so he's going to help me out," Dano said with a grin. "Every guy on the team is going to help me out. It's going to be a big game for us and hopefully we can get the win."
The full line rushes from Saturday's practice looked like this:
Connor-Wheeler-Laine
Ehlers-Little-Perreault
Copp-Lowry-Armia
Matthias-Hendricks-Dano
Morrissey-Trouba
Kulikov-Myers
Chiarot-Poolman
Jack Roslovic skated as the extra forward on Saturday (shortly after being recalled by the Jets, who placed Tanev on injured reserve in a corresponding move).

Roslovic is tied for third in AHL scoring with 35 points (10 goals and 25 assists) in 31 games with the Manitoba Moose. Nineteen of those 35 points came in the month of November, when Roslovic was named the AHL's Player of the Month.
"We've got (at least) a point in our last 16 games. I think that everyone is contributing and a lot of things are clicking right now. It's been a lot of fun to be down there," Roslovic said of the Moose, who sit atop the AHL standings with a 23-5-1-2 record.
Roslovic added he can gain a lot just being around the Jets, regardless of what role he's given.
"Any day in the NHL is a good day, so I'm just excited," said Roslovic. "Being in the locker room with the core group of leaders they have… Being around them, you can take away a lot, and really just be a sponge."

Maurice says there is no concrete plan for Roslovic at this point in terms of getting the 20-year-old into action, but did say the depth the centre/right winger can provide is important.
"It's all business to be honest with you. He hasn't been in the American League long enough for us to throw him a bone. He's played well," said Maurice. "He got real hot on the right side. We've got a bunch of guys that can play left, and we've got two guys playing left that could play centre if we need them to. But with the injury to Brandon and Nik Ehlers going to the right, the hole would be on the right side."
The Jets begin a two-game road trip tomorrow in Edmonton in the final meeting of the season with the Oilers.
Winnipeg has won each of the first two meetings, and the key is the pace the Jets have played with in each match-up.
"We've skated well against them. I felt all of last year, when we went 0-for-3 against them, we were a lot closer to being really good in those games, than we weren't," said Maurice. "We've skated really well, and played a respectful game against their skill."

Dustin Byfuglien and Toby Enstrom both participated in practice on Saturday in non-contact jerseys.
Maurice believes Enstrom (lower body) is still tracking for a return in mid-January, but hopes Byfuglien could be available in the next five days or so.
And even though he was in a non-contact jersey, Byfuglien got involved with physical contact in a couple drills anyway.
"He thinks he's fairly close. He wouldn't probably sign up for a year of practices given a choice. He'd rather just play the games," Maurice said with a smile. "He's showing the coaches he physically feels good to give hits anyway."
