The Winnipeg Jets face off with the Colorado Avalanche for the second time in six days tonight at Pepsi Center. The Jets come into the game with a record of 15-9-5, and have collected points in each of their last seven games, going 5-0-2 in that span.
In the last game between these two teams, Bryan Little recorded the franchise’s first hat trick since December 18, 2010.
The Colorado Avalanche sit 7th in the Central Division with a record of 9-13-6. Since losing to the Jets 6-2 on December 5, the Avalanche have only played one game, a 3-0 loss to Nashville. The Avalanche are winless in their last four games (0-3-1).
With the 5-2 win over Dallas on Tuesday, the Winnipeg Jets picked up their ninth road win of the season. The victory improved the team’s road record to 9-4-3, giving the Jets the second most road points in the NHL (21). The Jets penalty kill on the road is also second in the NHL.
POWER PLAY PERFORMANCE
Since snapping a 0-for-25 power play streak on November 25, the Jets have converted on seven of 23 power play opportunities, a rate of 30.4%.
This week’s quick two-game road trip is also the Winnipeg Jets Guest Trip. Players invited their dads, brothers, and close friends to join the team for a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. Before tonight’s game against Colorado, all members of the trip posed for a photo at Pepsi Center.
