Jets prospect Nic Petan extended his league-leading playoff scoring streak to 16 straight games with the tying goal late in the third period Friday night, but it wasn't enough as Tyson Baillie scored at 14:55 of overtime, lifting the Kelowna Rockets to a 2-1 win over the Portland Winterhawks in
Game 5 of the WHL Western Conference Final.
The Winterhawks led 39-29 in shots on goal after 60 minutes of play, but the Rockets took over in the extra period, outshooting the 'Hawks 20-4 the rest of the way.
The Rockets now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2 and can punch their ticket to the Championship Final with a victory in Game 6 Sunday night in the Rose City.
After appearing in his 87th career playoff game (tying a league record), Petan is now up to 10 goals and 26 points in only 16 games this post-season.
Fellow Jets prospects Chase De Leo (Portland) and Josh Morrissey (Kelowna) were held off the scoresheet.
